About the Chronicles
The "Chronicles" are a lore collection unlocked with Ember Shards. They have no effect on combat power at all. You can finish the whole game without reading a single one — they're there for players who want to go deeper into Tetria's world and its captains.
What's in it
Over 130 entries, grouped into a few categories:
- Captain backstories — a serialized look at each of the 7 captains' childhood, wounds, meetings, oaths, and life after
- Voices of the Dusk Legion — fragments revealing who the enemy soldiers were before the curse
- Regional folklore — legends tied to each of the 5 maps (the Dusk Plains, the Forgotten Forest, the Coast of Mourning, the Frozen Spire, the Fallen Capital)
- Life around the castle — everyday life between battles
- Kingdom history — how Tetria came to be
- Theory of the Ember — reflections on the power of Ember itself
- After the Dawn — a short epilogue set beyond the main ending
How entries unlock
Entries don't unlock randomly — they follow the story's own order, gated by your best depth reached in Endless mode. Early entries (days 0-2) introduce the castle and its enemies, the middle stretch (days 3-12) covers the captains and the continent's mysteries, and the final act (days 13-20) moves from the truth toward the ending. Reading further is itself a reason to keep pushing deeper into Endless mode.
About the ending (no spoilers)
The story is written all the way through the final map, including a proper ending that resolves what the dusk curse actually is. This guide deliberately leaves the details out — go play Endless mode and read the Chronicles for yourself.
Music unlocks
The same shard budget also unlocks the game's soundtrack in Music Mode for on-demand listening. This has no effect on combat either.
