Endless Mode & Ember Shards
Endless mode lets you keep going past the dawn of a standard 20-day run, as a pure score-attack. Only day 21 and beyond accelerates your Ember Shard earnings based on depth.
Days 1-20 pay the same as always
Clearing a standard run earns about 36 shards (unchanged). A standard run is a short, 20-day campaign, so its reward is deliberately kept modest to match.
Day 21 onward accelerates with depth
Push past day 20 in Endless mode and each additional day's payout grows. The acceleration runs through day 35, after which it flattens to a fixed rate (uncapped growth would let one very deep run buy out the entire Wisdom Tree). Rough figures:
| Depth reached | Approx. shards | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Day 20 | 36 | Standard run clear (unchanged) |
| Day 25 | 144 | |
| Day 27 | 243 | Roughly the median depth for a typical roster |
| Day 29 | 373 | Roughly the upper range for a typical roster |
| Day 30 | 449 | |
| Day 35 | 941 | Often cited as the difficulty wall |
A single run also has a hard cap (10,000 shards) on total earnings.
How deep can you realistically go?
Simulation testing (across multiple seeds and roster strengths) shows a typical, reasonably built roster runs out of steam around day 27-29. A weak roster may only reach day 4, while a well-trained one can in principle keep going much further. This lines up with the common feeling that "going past day 30 in Endless gets noticeably harder."
At that realistic depth (day 27-29), fully filling out the Wisdom Tree takes roughly 300-500 Endless runs. Reliably reaching day 30 brings that down to about 276 runs; reaching day 35 brings it down to about 132.
Other ways to earn shards
- Result-screen ad (fully optional) — adds the same amount you just earned (effectively doubling it)
- Daily ad (fully optional) — +25, once per day
Neither is required to finish the game — TetoWar has no forced full-screen ads or gacha.
